"Strength was never the question for me. I had to be strong to survive my childhood and eventually my adulthood as well. The challenges I faced, the trauma and loss, and eventually the medical issues that followed, required a high degree of strength to endure. All along the way I had multiple forks in the road, choices to make that would determine whether I continued to live or not.
I knew that no matter what, I would always choose life. That seed, the ember of truth that I had hidden away as a child, still burned and there were times when it flared up enough to burn away the fog and let me know I was still in there. Somewhere. "
