FROM THE TEXTILE STUDIO

BUBBE MEDICINE PILLOWS
“Bubbe” is the Yiddish word for grandmother. For me, it evokes the image of a wise and loving elder —
a woman whose presence creates warmth, comfort, and a deep sense of belonging.
Bubbe Medicine Pillows were created to carry that feeling into everyday life.
Each pillow is designed as a small offering of comfort —
something to lean into, to hold, or to rest beside you as you settle into a moment of quiet.
Like the blankets, each pillow begins with one of my original paintings.
The artwork is translated into cloth and framed with soft velvet ruffles that add
texture, warmth, and a sense of gentle embrace.
Made from organic cotton and silk velvet, these pillows are created to be
both beautiful and deeply comforting —
objects that invite the body to relax and the spirit to soften.
Each piece is made to order and carries the subtle variations that come with handmade work.
They are small sanctuaries of softness —
reminders that comfort, care, and warmth still have a place in the world.

I have spent an entire lifetime seeking the love and comfort
contained within a small piece of fabric.
The blankets, pillows, and wraps I make now are my grown-up “Bonkies” —
small touchstones of comfort in a world that often feels anything but gentle.

Each pillow carries its own quiet embrace.

A NOTE FROM THE STUDIO
“I began imagining ways to transform the jewels of my inner journeys —
the paintings themselves — into colors and textures
that could adorn my home and my body.”
